Comming up in 2009... (02/01/2009)

Happy New Year to you all.
We have a explorer meeting on Tuesday 6th January. We're going to have a go at the mobile phone photography challenge so if your phone has a camera, bring it along. We'll plug them into the laptops once you're done so make sure you have your SD card adaptors or leads.
Is anyone interested in the winter camp next weekend (9th - 11th Jan)? The leaders are going anyway so if you want to come, let me know. It'll cost you £30 and it's at Youlbury.

At the moment we intend to enter the following competitions:

Dragnet
If you want to do this, you'll need to practice you navigation skills so we'll get plenty of hiking practice in.

Pedal Car Championships
This will take a bit of work!! We need a team of fit Explorers to take part in this 24 hour endurance race. You'll also need to be very mechanically minded because you'll need to build it. Mums and Dads are more than welcome to help out with this one!!

We'll also take part in the Sedan Chair Rally

Summer Camp - Bla Sommer, Denmark 2009

I've finally got some details on this. We can be in Denmark from 9th - 23rd July (we'll probably try and go on Sat. 11 though). Just trying to sort out transport at the moment. The actual camp is from 15 - 23 July, but we've got use of the Aabenraa Scouts chalet from the 9th. We met these guys back in 2004 when we camped with them at the last Bla Sommer. So this'll give you a few days to get to know them.
We'll have a chat about this on Tuesday, but the cost for the camp will be £350. This includes accommodation before the camp, all the food, and transport.

We'll need to know who wants to go by the end of February.
